Metis Crossing Voyage Days @ Smoky Lake, AB, this weekend!

TH on stage

Boots & Guitar

After enjoying a languid last week off amid the mini Alberta summer heat wave here at Thorsby it’s time to get back in the saddle and back onto the stage this weekend and I’m excited to be joining the good people of Smoky Lake, Alberta, to celebrate the Metis Crossing Voyage Days 2011. A 2-day celebration of the heritage of the Metis peoples of Canada, I’m proud to celebrate my heritage and to invite all friends of Harwill to join with us as we embrace the history and heritage of our nation and its’ founding peoples. I’ll be appearing along with my good friends ‘King’ Richard Chernesky on lead guitar and the incomparable Tony Michael on fiddle on Saturday, August 27, and Sunday, August 28, 2011 – this weekend – between 1:30 and 5:00 PM, and I look forward to seeing you there.

I’m also pleased to report that I expect to conclude production of the next Tim Harwill studio album by the end of September, at which time post-production can finally begin. All things willin’ and the creek don’t rise a spring release for the new record sounds most likely at this point however I’ll keep you advised regarding progress thru the fall and thank you as always for your interest and support.

The other big news is the arrival of the live concert recording master CDs last week courtesy of producer/engineer Mark Ripp of Toronto which I’ve been listening to and expect to see released relatively shortly although as other business interests are in control of the recording I’m under instruction not to say too much. What I will say is that I can’t wait to share this record – my 1st live solo acoustic recording – with you and that Mark Ripp has done an outstanding job of the engineering and post-production for what I’m stating is an addition that I’m proud to make to the Tim Harwill catalogue of recorded works and one that I’m sure sure all friends of Harwill are going to enjoy a great deal. I’ll keep you posted regarding availability and thank you once again for your support.

As always I thank you for passing the word along the never-ending highway that I’m on the way thru and I look forward to seeing you at the show!
